Black Tuna is a British Columbian strain created by 5 Star Organics to provide a potent punch of THC, ideal for chronic pain relief. A Herijuana and Lamb’s Bread cross, it has gained a fair bit of fame in Canada for both its strong narcotic effects and quirky name. No, it doesn’t quite smell like fish. The name originates from the Black Tuna Gang that was famous for smuggling Colombian marijuana into the United States in the 1970s in sealed tuna cans.
The buds are dark green and heavily speckled with seemingly black (actually dark purple) accents. They are also highly sticky. The nose is classic kush; intoxicating, deeply pungent and redolent in spice. It is also potent! Given its high THC, it may be too much for novice or moderate consumers.
