A sativa-dominant hybrid with a distinctive color and odor, Golden Goat was created largely by chance. Unidentified breeders in Topeka, Kansas – an area not usually thought of as a cannabis hot spot – found that a male hybrid of Hawaiian/Romulan had fertilized a female plant of sativa Island Sweet Skunk. The result was a strain with colourful flowers and high trichome production that’s come to be known as Golden Goat. This happy accident is valued for its strong and well-balanced high and its soothing analgesic properties. Golden Goat has 1% of pain-relieving CBD in its genes, as well as THC composition that averages about 16% but can test as high as 23%.
This strain exhibits a pleasingly unique minty, haze nose coupled with a complex, mentholated sweet-sour-spicy tropical fruit flavor that lingers on the palate and perfumes the room with a spicy, incense-heavy Haze-like smoke. The buds are flat out gorgeous although a little wafty, as is typical of its genetics. The light green and pink coloration recall its Hawaiian Sativa side while the generous frost is thick and abundant.
All in all, this is an incredibly sweet and potent with a strongly cerebral and social effects package. Best for daytime usage with friends rather than a night home alone. The Romulan element adds a quality pain reduction and muscle tension relief element that seems to kick in most strongly later in the duration, making the body more able to keep up with the brain’s demands.
